Evidence for inclusive development.

KMSMJK Consulting is an inclusive research, monitoring and evaluation consultancy. We help donors, governments and civil society understand what works — with evidence designed, generated and owned by people with lived experience.

Who we are

A consultancy built around a simple idea: those most affected should shape the evidence.

Too often, research and evaluation are done on communities rather than with them. We work differently.

Registered in Indonesia and Australia, KMSMJK Consulting brings together evaluators, researchers and data specialists who have worked inside youth-led organisations, community networks, NGOs, government programmes and international development partners. We combine methodological rigour with participatory practice, so that the findings are credible to funders and meaningful to the people they describe.

How lived experience leads our work

Inclusion is not a chapter at the end of the report. It is built into four decisions in every assignment.

01

Who asks the questions

Communities and people with lived experience help set evaluation questions and define what “success” means.

02

Who gathers the evidence

We train and pay peer and community researchers, and design tools that are accessible and safe.

03

Who makes sense of it

Findings are tested in sense-making sessions with participants before they reach a final report.

04

Who owns the results

Results return to communities in usable formats, and data is governed with their consent.

I started in youth-led and community organisations, watching decisions about our lives being made from reports we never saw. KMSMJK exists so that the people closest to an issue are not just respondents, but co-owners of the evidence.
